In line with its mandate under Presidential Decree No. 1746, the CIAP joined hands with various professional organizations and stakeholders, and formulated the CIAP Document 102 or the Uniform General Conditions of Contract for Private Construction, containing usages of the trade and generally accepted construction industry standards and promoting fair and harmonious contractual relationships in the Philippine construction industry.
This is in cognizance that fair contract terms and conditions that balance risk sharing and clearly define the rights and obligations of the contracting parties are of vital importance to the construction industry because of the huge investments involved and the high risks faced by contractors and project owners alike.
