The CMDF implements Productivity Training Development Program to enhance the competencies and capabilities of the manpower resources of the Construction Industry, with the end-in-view of making the industry globally competitive.

CMDF training courses, particularly Technology/Supervisory Development Courses as well as Productivity & Skills’ Upgrading Courses, are offered at CMDF’s Training Centers (CMDF-TC) in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, Cebu City or Davao City. Other training courses, such as Construction Management Courses and Safety Training Courses, are conducted with our strategic partners. CMDF training courses may also be offered as in-house training for companies; while skills’ upgrading and trade testing are conducted in communities (training-cum-production, i.e.,) workers may be trained in community projects sites for proper job execution.

By forging strategic partnerships with private and public sector organizations such as: the Philippine Constructor Association (PCA) , Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL), PAMAV Tech, PICE Makati Chapter, PCA Marivalley Marikina, AiTech, appropriate construction management and supervisory development course curricula were developed. CMDF ensures that each course curriculum is benchmarked with internationally accepted standards and appropriate for the development of the human resources of the Construction Industry.

 

 

A.1   CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT COURSES (CMC)

The CMC is designed to integrate strategic training interventions to sustain the management capabilities of construction project managers & superintendents. More specifically, the CMC is a series of short-courses in the different knowledge areas of construction project management. It adheres to the conceptual framework based both on local and internationally accepted standards. Majority of it was designed with reference to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) of the US.

CMDF maintains a pool of resource speakers/lecturers who are industry practitioners. Their vast knowledge & expertise in the field of Construction Project Management will surely broaden one’s perspective and insights about the subject matter.

A.3  SAFETY & HEALTH  TRAINING COURSES

It is generally recognized that proper execution management of building and infrastructure construction works has become increasingly important to satisfy the buildings’ end users, project owners and contractors in terms of quality, delivery, productivity and above all the safety of structures and the workplace. Recent incidents brought about by deficient/inadequate execution of management and safety awareness in the construction industry resulted to accidents in project sites. In response to this situation, CMDF offers safety & health training courses targeting construction contractors, PCAB Authorized Management Officers (AMO), Safety Officers, PCAB Sustaining Technical Employees (STE) and workers. The safety & health training courses offered are as follows:

COURSES OFFERED:

  1. CONSTRUCTION SAFETY & HEALTH (COSH) COURSE FOR SITE SAFETY OFFICERS.
    The CMDF COSH course is accredited by the Bureau of Working Condition (BWC) of  the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). COSH Course was developed in response to the requirements of DOLE D. O. No. 13 requiring contractors to establish safety programs in every construction project sites. For Course Description & Module, Click here
  2. SAFETY & TRAFFIC CONTROL DURING ROAD CONSTRUCTION.

  3. 2-DAY CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT SEMINR FOR AMO
    The basis for this program is the PCAB Board Resolution No. 159, Series of 2020, which is designed for proprietors/ AMOs, in place of the regular 40-hour COSH. To assure compliance with the requirements, the PCAB has required the completion of this two-day seminar. If the AMO is also the STE, the 40-hour COSH will suffice. CMDF acts as the Program Manager in the two-day safety seminar in partnership with PCAB, Constructor Associations, and Professional Organizations.
  4. ONE-DAY CONSTRUCTION WORKERS’ SAFETY & HEALTH ORIENTATION.
    The basis for this program is the MOA-JAO No. 01, series 2011 initiated by the DOLE. It covers the commitments, agreements and responsibilities among the collaborating agencies (DOLE, DPWH, DTI, DILG, PRC) to include other related programs and activities with the end view of ensuring proper coordination and harmonization of policies and programs to ensure safety and health of workers in the construction industry. Under this MOA-JAO, the CMDF was tasked to develop and implement a 1-day Construction Workers Safety &Health Orientation to inform workers about the hazards in construction and what should they do to protect their selves.
