The Philippine Domestic Construction Board (PDCB) successfully conducted a Constructors Performance Evaluation System (CPES) accreditation training for the National Food Authority (NFA) at the NFA Regional Office VI in Jaro, Iloilo City, from March 26 to 28, 2025. This comprehensive training was attended by 42 licensed engineers from various NFA regions across the country, with the goal of enhancing the skills of NFA personnel in evaluating the performance of contractors involved in infrastructure projects.

The training was led by distinguished lecturers, including Engr. Renz Maverick E. Alcance from the PDCB, Engr. Sergie T. Retome, Division Chief from the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), and Engr. Arnel V. Fortunado, a board member of the Association of Accredited CPES Evaluators of the Philippines (AACEP). Their expertise provided valuable insights into the CPES framework and its application in real-world scenarios.

As part of the training, participants conducted a mock CPES evaluation of one of NFA’s rice milling facilities in the region, applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios and further enhancing their skills in performance assessment.

The forty-two (42) technical personnel from the NFA are now qualified to be CPES evaluators. Upon inclusion in the PDCBโ€™s roster of accredited evaluators, they are eligible to conduct CPES evaluations for both USEP’s projects and those of other agencies, should they be engaged as third-party evaluators, in accordance with the NEDA-approved CPES guidelines.
