MAY 17, 2022 – The Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF), together with the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA), are partnering up with Bentley Education and Bentley Systems for an upcoming competition intended for college students taking up Civil Engineering or Civil Technology courses in the Philippines – the Skills Olympics 2022: Miniature Bridge Competition which is set to be launched at the PhilConstruct Virtual Expo, on June 10, 2022.
This competition aims to expose engineering students to proper construction methods implemented in the field by applying techniques on a smaller scale through the use of advanced design and construction management software.
Although the applications are on a miniature scale, the competition aims big to immerse students in realistic experiences and real-world conditions to promote a genuine understanding of structural design, construction methodologies, and project management techniques.
Bentley Systems is an infrastructure engineering software company more popularly known in the country as the developer of STAAD.Pro, a widely used design software that is also commonly used in engineering universities and colleges. With their expertise and mission for digital construction, Bentley is a welcome addition to the competition.
The organizations have been planning and executing the coverage of the understanding since late 2021 which covers the conduct of a training and competition programs for the registered teams.
