June 21, 2025 | Dasmariñas City, Cavite – The Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF) successfully held the pilot public offering of the Mandatory Eight-Hour Safety and Health (MESH) Seminar for Workers at the CMDF Training Center, also known as the Construction Manpower Development Center (CMDC).

The MESH Seminar is a DOLE-required orientation designed to equip workers with basic knowledge of occupational safety and health (OSH). Topics included hazard identification, accident prevention, emergency preparedness, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). As a DOLE-Accredited Safety Training Organization (STO), CMDF ensures that successful completion of the seminar satisfies the government’s mandatory 8-hour OSH training requirement for workers.

35 Participants came from a wide range of roles such as welders, masons, carpenters, painters, electricians, helpers, leadmen, foremen, and installers —all brought together by a shared commitment to safer job sites.

While CMDF’s core mandate focuses on workforce development within the construction industry, this free program aligns with DTI’s broader direction to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) small and micro enterprises. It specifically targeted micro and small enterprises from Pakyaw Contractors to Trade D-E Regular Contractors reinforcing CMDF’s efforts to make compliance training more accessible and inclusive across the sector.

Following the warm reception of this pilot run, comment or send us a message to let us know where you’d like the next MESH seminar to be held. Stay tuned to CMDF Facebook and LinkedIn pages for announcements on the schedule and venues of upcoming trainings!
