29 March 2023, Taguig City – CIAP Executive Director-In-Charge and PODCB ED Doris Gacho talks about the role of women in changing the landscape of the construction industry during the 2023 ULI Philippines National Conference held at the Grand Hyatt BGC.
The CIAP, through ED Gacho, also joins and supports the launch of the Women in Engineering Movement spearheaded by the CECOPHIL YPF.
“As the industry looks for solutions to the growing workforce shortage, recruiting more women appears to be one of the most viable. Employing, educating, and supporting women construction workers are now deemed necessary to ensure long-term industry progress. Challenges will be encountered, not just by women, but everyone in the industry. But as a woman myself, I encourage all the women right now to always be yourself, have that courage, and confidence; Be an expert in your field; Let us support and inspire one another; and find ways to devote time to both career and family life. With this, we hope to overcome those challenges and stereotypes, and be the best version of ourselves.” (– ED Gacho, 2023)
