The Philippine Domestic Construction Board (PDCB) conducted a 3-day CPES Accreditation Training on 19-21 March 2025 for the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP).
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Maria Luisa Bautista-Faunillan, USEP Vice President for Administration, expressed the university’s commitment to implementing the Constructors’ Performance Evaluation System (CPES) across all its infrastructure projects. This move aims to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects while championing transparency, accountability, and good governance in line with the administration’s policy objectives.
The training was led by experienced resource persons: Engr. Sergie T. Retome of CIAP-PCAB, Engr. Jane E. Galleto of PPA, and Engr. Nikki C. Najarro of CIAP-PDCB who also served as the facilitator. These seasoned CPES evaluators and PDCB-certified trainers provided valuable insights throughout the course.
A total of 21 technical personnel from USEP, including 19 PRC-licensed engineers and 2 architects, successfully completed the case study examination and practicum. They are now qualified to be CPES evaluators. Upon inclusion in the PDCB’s roster of accredited evaluators, they are eligible to conduct CPES evaluations for both USEP’s projects and those of other agencies, should they be engaged as third-party evaluators, in accordance with the NEDA-approved CPES guidelines.
The collaboration between the PDCB and USEP marks a significant step towards ensuring the success and credibility of the CPES program, with both parties committed to sustaining its effectiveness.
