PHILIPPINES DEEPENS PARTNERSHIPS AT THIRD CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS MISSION TO AUSTRALIA
Sydney, Australia – The Philippine Overseas Construction Board (POCB), together with the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) under the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), successfully concluded the Third Philippine Construction Business Mission to Australia from April 25 to May 1, 2026, alongside Sydney Build 2026.
This year’s mission built on the momentum of past engagements, positioning the Philippines as a reliable partner in Construction, Architecture, and Engineering Design Services and Outsourcing (CAEDSO), supporting Australia’s infrastructure pipeline and addressing challenges such as labor shortages and project backlogs.
PCAB’s participation was crucial in ensuring that Philippine contractors are recognized, accredited, and compliant with international standards. By joining the mission, PCAB reinforced the credibility of Philippine firms, promoted transparent contractor accreditation processes, and strengthened institutional collaboration with Australian industry associations. This role is vital in opening doors for Philippine contractors to access overseas projects while assuring partners of quality, reliability, and regulatory alignment. PCAB was represented by its Executive Director, Atty. Genaro Jacob, whose presence underscored the board’s commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and opening doors for Philippine contractors to access overseas projects.
The mission featured high-level B2B meetings, networking sessions, and the Philippine Forum on Partnership Opportunities for Australian Contractors, where POCB Executive Director Doris U. Gacho underscored the Philippines’ strengths in BIM-enabled workflows, digital engineering, and sustainable project delivery.
A major highlight was the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Sydney Build and Melbourne Build, cementing long-term collaboration between Philippine CAEDSO firms and Australia’s premier construction platforms. These agreements pave the way for sustained platforms for more promotions and B2B meetings for discussions on joint ventures, subcontracting opportunities, and integrated design partnerships—particularly as Australia gears up for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and other major developments.
Philippine firms, including Anointed ACEF Engineering Services and Supply, Antech Automation Inc., Flat Planet, Forsspac, R.D. Interior Junior Construction, Ronmark Construction and Development Corporation, RT Pecolera Construction Corp., Silverdab Corporation, and Institute of Integrated Electrical of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE). showcased globally competitive solutions in construction, engineering, and workforce outsourcing—reinforcing the Philippines’ role as a reliable partner for Australian contractors and international infrastructure projects.
Supported by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) Sydney and the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, the mission reaffirmed CIAP’s whole-of-sector approach to expanding market access and promoting the global competitiveness of the Philippine construction industry.
The Philippines is ready to partner with Australian and global contractors seeking cost-efficient, future-ready, and sustainable solutions.
