The Philippine Overseas Construction Board (POCB) successfully concluded its First Philippine Construction Business Mission to Singapore, held from 30 August to 05 September 2026. The inaugural Mission marked a significant step in strengthening the international competitiveness and global presence of Philippine construction, architecture, and engineering design services and outsourcing (CAEDSO) providers by advancing business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and market access in Singapore.
The delegation brought together key Philippine construction, architecture, and digital engineering players, including Fulgar Architects, Icon Rock Builders and Development, Makati Development Corporation, Ronmark Construction and Development Corporation, and Silverdab Corporation. The Mission also featured the participation of professional organizations, namely the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE) – Singapore Chapter and the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National and Singapore Chapters, bringing together diverse capabilities and industry networks across the built environment sector.
With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Singapore, the delegation achieved key milestones throughout the Mission. Among these was the Philippines’ debut as an exhibitor at the Built Environment Expo (BEX) Asia 2026, a premier Asia-Pacific business platform for the built environment. Through a dedicated Philippine Booth, the country showcased its value proposition in green, cost-effective, and future-ready CAEDSO solutions for infrastructure development, urban transformation, smart and digital construction, and sustainability initiatives in Singapore and international markets.

The Philippines further took the spotlight through “Build with the Philippines: A Philippine Forum on Partnership Opportunities with Singapore,” the Mission’s flagship event at BEX Asia 2026. The Forum highlighted the competitive strengths of Philippine CAEDSO and served as a platform to connect Philippine firms with Singapore and global players, opening new avenues for business and collaboration.
During the Forum, H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, underscored the built environment sector as a key driver of economic growth and called for stronger Philippines–Singapore cooperation, leveraging the countries’ complementary strengths in talent, technology, and industry networks to pursue opportunities across ASEAN. Executive Director Doris U. Gacho of the Philippine Overseas and Domestic Construction Board (PODCB) highlighted the breadth of Philippine CAEDSO services and the country’s competitive advantages in the global market. A fireside chat with the Philippine delegates and the audience further showcased Philippine expertise in construction and project delivery, architectural design, BIM and outsourcing, electrical engineering, sustainability, and other specialized services. Atty. Carla Regina P. Grepo, Commercial Counsellor of the DTI–Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Singapore, encouraged the local companies to explore partnerships with Philippine firms for projects in Singapore and across the region.

This initiative generated significant business and market-development results, including potential project contracts, procurement of innovative technology solutions, and the signing of partnership agreements, while raising the profile of Philippine CAEDSO capabilities among Singaporean and international stakeholders. These results reinforce the Philippines’ position as a competitive and strategic CAEDSO partner for Singapore, offering skilled talent, technical expertise, cost competitiveness, and growing digital capabilities.
The Mission marks a significant step in expanding the global reach of Philippine CAEDSO providers and deepening Philippines–Singapore industry collaboration, positioning Philippine firms to deliver cost-efficient, future-ready, sustainable, and high-quality solutions for Singapore-based and international projects.
