On 21 June 2023, gender and development (GAD) focal persons from #CIAP attended the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) online seminar, entitled: “GAD Webinar 3: Towards A Gender-Responsive Agency: The 7 Steps in Formulating A GAD Agenda”.
The activity is part of PCW’s GAD Webinar Series which provides a more accessible and innovative knowledge sharing platform to increase the awareness of policymakers, civil servants, GAD practitioners, and the public on GAD-related matters. In particular, the webinar aimed to accomplish the following: (1) level off understanding on the GAD Agenda as the basis of an agency’s long-term plan for implementing gender mainstreaming efforts; (2) provide a step-by-step guide on the formulation and operationalization of an agency’s GAD Strategic Framework and GAD Strategic Plan; and (3) demonstrate the process of formulating the GAD Agenda through sharing of practices.
Resource persons from the PCW, Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC), and Gender Empowerment Consultancy and Advocacy Firm shared the tools and techniques needed for the identification and prioritization of gender issues in the overall formulation of the GAD Agenda.
CIAP, including its Implementing Boards (PCAB, POCB, PDCB, CMDF, and CIAC), affirms its commitment to assist the national government in the achievement of the long-term vision of gender equality and women empowerment. CIAP is one with the government’s initiatives to advocate for and achieve gender equality through gender mainstreaming. The agency’s goal is to bring forth gender sensitivity, gender awareness, and inclusivity in the construction industry.
