๐๐๐๐: The DTI-Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (DTI-CIAP), together with its Implementing Boards, held its Special Flag Ceremony to celebrate the 2024 National Womenโs Month. The #CIAP commits to pushing for gender equality, inclusivity, and women empowerment and joins the national government to the 2024 Womenโs Month Celebration with the theme: “๐๐๐ฅ๐ช๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐จ ๐จ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ; ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ, ๐ฅ๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ฉ๐ช๐ฃ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ!”
During his Opening Remarks, CIAP Executive Director Atty. Marco C. Leading todayโs discussion on the significant role of women in construction, Architect Weejee A. Decena, Philippine Constructorโs Association (PCA) Board of Trustee and Chairperson of Estilo de Vida, shared her invaluable expertise and wealth of experience in the construction field, including the challenges such as stereotypes & biases, workplace culture, and lack of representation and how to overcome them. Moreover, she also enlightened the CIAP personnel regarding the future of women in construction through education and awareness, mentorship and networking, and company policy and diversity initiatives.
Sharing her experience as one of the women leaders of CIAP, CMDF Officer-in-Charge Ofelia R. Usigan also emphasized on the importance of creating a society and work environment that advocates for equal rights, opportunities, and treatment for people of all genders.
PODCB Executive Director Doris Gacho, during her closing remarks, shared a poem by Desiree Bernales entitled โ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ช ๐ฌ๐ข ๐ฃ๐ข๐ฃ๐ข๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐จโ. With this, we should take this moment to acknowledge and applaud the women who have stood tall in this sector and for our nation, demonstrating that excellence knows no gender boundaries.

๐๐๐๐โ๐ ๐๐: Women in Construction
As the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that construction is the 1st in the top 5 sub-sectors in terms of annual increase in the number of employed persons for January 2024, the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) looks forward to more Filipino women joining the construction workforce.
Let us continue to break barriers and traditional gender-based societal norms.

๐๐๐๐: CIAP, spearheaded by the GAD Committee Technical Working Group, conducted a seminar on the Child and Youth Welfare Development Code and other relevant laws on the protection of the rights of children. This is part of the various activities organized by the agency in celebration of the 2024 National Womenโs Month.
Atty. Rafael Ricalde from the Council for the Welfare of Children served as the guest speaker for the seminar.
CIAP supports the initiatives of the whole government to protect and secure the rights and welfare of children.
